Winifred Oyo-Ita sent on indefinite leave, successor named

After weeks of speculation and uncertainty, the embattled Head of Civil Service, Winifred Oyo-Ita, has been sent on an indefinite leave, pending the conclusion of investigation by the anti-graft agency.

President Muhammadu Buhari, who gave the directive, also approved the appointment of Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan as acting Head of Civil Service.

Yemi-Esan, was before her new appointment, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum Resources.

A statement from the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, explained that Oyo-Ita’s indefinite leave was to allow the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to conclude its investigations on corruption allegations against her.

You may recall that there has been a change in the leadership of the Federal Civil Service, amid allegations of three billion naira bribery and falsification of duty tour allowance against the Head, Winifred Oyo-Ita.
