SPEAKER

Speaker, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Barrister Onofiok Luke, has encouraged youths in the state not to engage in criminal activities, warning that the security operatives have been put on high alert to tackle any threat across the state.

Speaking at an event in Itu Local Government Area, Barrister Luke advised young people and political supporters not to turn to violent means while airing and defending their political views and positions, especially with the 2019 General elections around the corner.

In the spirit of the Easter celebration, the Speaker appealed to Akwa Ibom people to use the occasion to pray for the state Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and other government office holders.

For persons who are yet to register for their Permanent Voter Cards, Barrister Luke, called on them to do so, noting that the exercise would commence for the second quarter of the year tomorrow in offices of the Independent National Electoral Commission across the state.
