President Buhari Constitutes task Force to restore Law and Order in Lagos

Worried by the menace caused by the gridlock in Apapa and its environs, President Muhammadu Buhari has constituted a task force headed by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, with a mandate to restore law and order in the ever-busy area of Lagos state, within two weeks.

The directive, which was given at today’s last Federal Executive Council meeting of President Buhari’s first term in government, was confirmed on the verified Twitter handle of the Government of Nigeria.

The Taskforce, which will report directly to the President, is mandated to develop an efficient and effective management plan for the entire port area traffic, including the cargo, fuel distribution, and business district traffic.

According to the notice, operators of trucks and tankers have also been ordered to vacate the Port Access Roads within the next seventy-two hours.
