It is no longer going to be business as usual for employers of labour in Lagos state who connive with members of the National Youth Service Corps to engage in absenteeism during the service year.
Lagos State Coordinator of the corps, Mohammed Momoh, who stated this at the closing ceremony of the Batch ‘B’ Stream Two Orientation Course at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos said such establishments now stand the risk of being blacklisted.
Momoh urged corps members to obey the rules and regulations of the scheme as erring members would be sanctioned in line with NYSC bye-laws.
He regretted that some employers connived with corps members to breach the rules and regulations of the scheme, frustrating the aim of mentoring and instilling the right virtues in the young men and women put under their supervision.
