Written by on August 27, 2019

Worried by the rising wave of insecurity in the country, Nigeria Labour Congress has resolved to mobilize workers nationwide to embark on rallies.

Labour said the upsurge in kidnapping, armed robbery, communal crisis and Boko Haram attacks, herders/farmers clashes was getting out of hand.

The union in a communiqué issued at the end of a meeting in Kano also expressed concern over the prevailing economic difficulties in the country.

Accordingly, it warned against any attempt by the federal government to increase the pump price of petrol, saying that it was still very uncomfortable with the recent hike in electricity tariffs, charged by distribution companies.

It called for improvement in the quality and quantity of policing deployed for the security of citizens and property.
