NIMC

National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, has issued a statement debunking reports in certain quarters that it had suspended the issuance of the National Identification cards.

NIMC’s Head, Corporate Communications Unit, Loveday Ogbonna, described the report as “false and misleading”, insisting that it had never suspended the issuance of cards to successful enrollees at any time.

She advised persons who have completed their enrolment for National Identification cards and received an SMS to proceed to the National Identity Management Commission where they enrolled to pick up their Cards from tomorrow.

She urged persons who have not received an SMS to check the status of their cards on the NIMC website: www.nimc.gov.ng.

Ogbonna reminded Nigerians and legal residents that the National Identification Number is the unique identifier and most important token issued by the Commission.
