As the struggle for the implementation of the new minimum wage regime persists, the Nigeria Governors Forum says the thoughts of its members are aligned and not divided.
Chairman of the Forum, Kayode Fayemi, who made the clarifications, said the governors did not consider the national minimum wage increase as a general wage review.
Fayemi said the governors were left with the only choice of paying the new National Minimum Wage as it is already a law which is binding and not debatable.
He acknowledged that while the state chief executives know that there may be a need for minimal consequential adjustment, they were together with the Federal Government that it should not exceed nine percent.
