Lagos Govt bans trucks, trailers in day time

Written by on January 28, 2021

Henceforth, trucks and trailers have been banned from plying Lagos state roads during day time.

This was announced by the Commissioner for Transportation, Frederic Oladeinde, during a meeting with stakeholders in Ikeja.

Oladeinde said trucks and trailers are now restricted to night operations on dedicated routes between 9 pm and 6 am daily in order to avert rising massacre on roads during the daytime.

He said the move was necessary as the Apapa area of the state has been rendered less profitable for investors due to the gridlock and activities of truck drivers along the axis.

The Commissioner appealed to transport stakeholders to cooperate with the State Government to remedy the situation, as no compliance from truck drivers would be met with stiff penalties.
