NEW ANC PRESIDENT

Nigerians in South Africa have congratulated Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa on his election as the new President of the African National Congress.

According to reports, Ramaphosa scored two thousand four hundred and forty votes to defeat former Chairperson of the Africa Union ,Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma who had two thousand two hundred and sixty one at the party`s fifty fourth elective convention, at Nasrec, near Johannesburg.

Ramaphosa, 65, is a businessman, activist, lawyer, and trade union leader that has served as the Deputy President of South Africa since 2014.

The president of Nigerian union in South Africa Adetola Olubajo expressed satisfaction noting that comrade Ramaphosa will consolidate on his campaign promises .

Olubajo said that the new President of ANC had the experience to move South Africa forward and take the country away from its economic downturn.
