Written by on November 25, 2019

Minister of State for Environment, Sharon Ikeazor, has pointed out bush burning practice as one of the causes of climate change.

Ikeazor, who condemned the practice in Nigeria, explained that climate change results in excessive heat, drought, rising sea levels, and unhealthy climate conditions.

Speaking on the sidelines of a Climate Change Conference in Lagos State, the Minister proposed that enforcement of extant environmental laws by state governments will go a long way in arresting bush burning and cultivating the new world order of the “green ecosystem”.

She noted that there was the need to adopt better scientific methods in conducting domestic and commercial activities with recourse to a sustainable environment.
