Federal Government has held the military pensions’ verification in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, saying that its objective is to block all leakages in the government’s expenditure.
Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali, who inaugurated the exercise at the Mogadishu Cantonment, Abuja, said it would update the pensioners’ records and help to eliminate fake or dead pensioners from the database.
He said the verification for the military lasted for one week and was simultaneously held in the thirty-six states, covering ranks from Privates to Major-Generals as well as pensioners critically sick and hospitalized.
