Keyamo removed as Niger Delta Minister, Redeployed to Labour

Written by on September 25, 2019

Barely one month after the swearing in of President Buhari’s second term ministers, two junior ministers have already been directed to swap positions.

They are Festus Keyamo who moves from the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs as a Minister of State to Ministry of Labour in the same capacity, while his contemporary in that ministry, Tayo Alasoadura, takes over Keyamo’s position in the Niger Delta Affairs Ministry.

A statement by the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, shows that the changes which were approved by President Muhammadu Buhari take immediate effect.

The statement was however silent on the reason for the changes.

Reacting to the development in a tweet, Keyamo said his deployment to the Ministry of Labour and Employment had offered him a fresh opportunity to prove his versatility, adding that he was ready to serve the Buhari government in any capacity.
