JAMB moves to tackle back-door university admission

Written by on December 10, 2019

Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has uncovered tricks by some universities to circumvent the rights of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates through back-door admissions.

The board, in its weekly bulletin, vowed to sanction such universities offering admissions to Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates on their portals without abiding by the Central Admissions Processing System.

It described such admission offers as illegal and would not be recognized by JAMB and warned candidates not to accept any admission offer that is not validated on their profile page with JAMB or offered through the Central Admissions Processing System.

JAMB also advised universities to promptly withdraw and desist from such illegitimate actions.
