INNOCENT UDOIDIONG DONATES DESKS TO ABAK SCHOOL, PROVIDES GRANTS FOR LESS-PRIVILEGED PERSONS IN EKET

Barely one month after the management of Government Primary School Aka 1, Uyo, was presented with 20 dual desks by a UK-based Akwa Ibom scholar and philanthropist, Mr. Innocent Udoidiong, similar gesture has been extended to St. Mary’s Practicing School, Ediene Abak, Abak Local Government Area.
Mr. Udoidiong through his organisation, Innocent Udoidioing Foundation, donated 20 four-seater desks for use by the pupils of the school who had been sitting on bare floor to receive lessons, according to the school management.
The Head-teacher of the school, Mrs. Ntiene-obong Obot as well as the Education Secretary, Abak Local Government Area, Mrs. Ini Ekopido received the desks presented by a team led by the Coordinator of the foundation, Mr. Joseph Ekpo.
Ekpo, while presenting the items said it was an intervention to complement the free and compulsory education policy of the Akwa Ibom State government, stressing the need for well-meaning private individuals and corporate bodies to contribute their quota to provide conducive learning environment for pupils and students in the state.
Meanwhile, Mr Innocent Udoidiong yesterday through his foundation presented cash grants of N50,000 each to ten less-privileged persons from Ikot Uso-Ekong community in Eket, Eket Local Government Area to improve their living condition by engaging in small scale business activities.
Among the people who received the cash grants were widows, visually impaired persons, and other physically challenged persons from the community.
The beneficiaries all showered praises on Mr. Udoidiong and prayed to God to continue to bless him for coming to their aid in the time of need.
