If you are a keke rider and you want to do your business smoothly without crossing paths with the new order, hold yourself ready to acquire and wear an identity Card soon to be introduced by the Ministry of Transport in the next one month.
Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Orman Esin, who announced this when he appeared as guest on Comfort FM Breakfast Programme, explained that the action became necessary to check crime perpetrated by some of your colleagues and imposters who take advantage of commuters, dispossessing them of their valuables while on transit.
To this end, Esin directed keke operators in the state to take advantage of the period of grace to register with the Ministry for issuance of the documents.
The Commissioner used the opportunity to refute claims by some transport unions who say the Ministry does not involve them in activities of government, dismissing the claims as unfounded.
He said the Unions who are duly registered with government have no such complains because they are on the same page with activities of the Ministry, even as he called for proper coordination among them.
