Written by on December 7, 2019

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has given an assurance that the House would begin work on the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill as well as the amendment of the 1999 Constitution next year.

Gbajabiamila dropped the hint yesterday at a retreat organized for chairmen of standing committees of the House by the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies in Lagos.

The Speaker noted that the House would do everything within its powers to give Nigeria what it deserves in terms of laws that would promote peace and good governance in the country.

He commended the lawmakers for their commitment to the passage of the 2020 budget, which he said would bring the budget cycle to January to December.
