GOVERNOR UDOM EMMANUEL INNAUGURATES EVENT CENTRE IN MEMORY OF HIS MOTHER

Governor Udom Emmanuel has reminded mothers of their responsibilities of giving their children effective upbringing to enable them to become useful citizens and contribute positively to the development of society.
Mr Emmanuel stated this while inaugurating an Event Hall at Qua Iboe House, No 2 Olusegun Obasanjo Way, Uyo built and equipped by him in memory of his late mother, Deaconess Emily Gabriel Nkannang.
Represented by his Senior Special Assistant on Religious Matters, Reverend Daniel Akwatang, the Governor thanked the leadership of the church for the creative and judicious utilization of funds donated for the project and completion of the project on time and expressed delight that his late mother, who was a Women Fellowship President of Qua Iboe Church, Awa Iman ,has been immortalized with the opening of the QIC Uyo Township Event Centre in her honour .
He solicited continuous prayers and support of the church for him and the state , adding that with the spiritual backing, his administration will deliver continue to deliver on policies and programmes that have direct impact on the citizenry.
General Superintendent and Chairman of QIC Worldwide, Reverend Ekpedeme Moffat Efanga who dedicated the hall to the glory of God and benefits of humanity, applauded the Governor for equipping the Event Hall, and prayed for divine Blessings on all activities and programmes that will be staged in the hall.
The Church Chairman, Elder Udo Asamudo thanked the Governor for the donation made in February this year for the equipping the Hall and listed the components of the hall to include: standing and hanging Air-conditioners, Public Address System and accessories,600 Special Banquet seats, High Table Chairs, Banquet and Conference tables, Raised platform, Lectern, CCTV with projector and LED TV screens, Drapes, a furnished Conference room for 20 persons as well as a red carpet for the platform and walk way.
The Minister-in-charge of the congregation, Reverend Iniobong Ekong in a sermon on the topic, ” The Relationship that makes all things work well” urged all Christians to cultivate a friendly relationship with God .
