FRSC

Despite warnings from the Akwa Ibom state Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, thirty six drivers were found wanting during the Easter period.

State FRSC Public Relations Officer, Jonas Agwu, who confirmed this to Comfort FM’s Correspondent, Ruth Amadin, explained that the thirty six offenders were prosecuted in the mobile court at Ikot Ekpene and Eket Local Government Areas.

Out of the number, five offenders were convicted with an option of fines.

The FRSC spokesman noted that the Sector Commander, Sunday Oghenekaro, had cautioned drivers not to engage in acts such as overloading of vehicles, non use of seat belts, use of mobile phones while driving and loading of animals and passengers in one vehicle.

Oghenekaro called on Akwa Ibom road users to take a cue from those prosecuted and abide by the road safety laws to avoid getting into trouble with the Corps.
