Four thousand Primary Health Care centers renovated nationwide

Written by on November 30, 2019

Not less than four thousand Primary Health Care centers across the country have been renovated by the National Primary Health Care Developmental Agency, with support from states and developmental partners.

Executive Secretary of the Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib, confirmed this figure in Abuja, saying work was in progress to make ten thousand Primary Health Care centers available to Nigerians.

Shuaib noted that the renovated Primary Health Care centers still lack electricity, water, commodities, and drugs to meet the health-care needs of Nigerians.

It would be recalled that the federal government had in 2017, kicked off a scheme to revitalize over ten thousand primary healthcare centers across the country, in its bid to achieving Universal Health Coverage for all.
