Femi Gbajabiamila assures end of foot dragging on electoral reforms

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, has assured Nigerians and the international community that the era of foot dragging on electoral reforms by the Legislature was over.
Gbajabiamila made the promise while receiving the European Union Election Observer team on Nigeria and ECOWAS in Abuja, who were there to present their final report on the 2019 general elections to the leadership of the National Assembly.
The Speaker, who acknowledged the improvements made in Nigeria’s electoral process, said more needed to be done, thanked the EU for their contributions to the international community and affirmed Nigeria’s readiness to always follow International best practices.
Head of the EU delegation, Ketil Karlsen, said the EU had much regards for Nigeria’s parliament and hoped for continuous engagement between the National Assembly and the union, going forward.
