Following last night’s shooting at the Lekki toll gate, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has ordered an investigation into the incident and called on Lagosians to remain calm.
Sanwo-Olu advised security agents not to arrest anyone because of the curfew, which is to last for twenty-four hours.
The Governor in a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Gbenga Omotoso, promised to do everything within his power to ensure that the lives of all Lagosians are protected at all times.
He said he would give a broadcast this morning on the tragic shooting of protesters at the Lekki Toll Gate Plaza, in which by his account twenty-eight people were injured, with two in critical conditions.
Sanwo-Olu, however, did not indicate the number of the dead after visiting the injured in three Lagos hospitals.
