Government services will be disrupted today in Zimbabwe, as civil servants begin a nationwide strike to demand for improved wages.
The workers are pressing for higher wages that are pegged to the US dollar after last minute negotiations with the government failed.
Zimbabwe has the world’s highest inflation rate which has eroded civil servants’ wages to around seventy dollars per month.
Meanwhile, the government of Zimbabwe has fired seventy seven doctors who have been taking part in a strike since September over pay.
