Army explains role in the killing of three Policemen in Taraba

Written by on August 8, 2019

Nigerian Army has cleared the air on the police officers who were fired by soldiers in Taraba State on Tuesday, saying the victims were mistaken for kidnappers.

You may recall that three policemen and one civilian were killed after soldiers opened fire on a police team along Ibi-Wukari Road, injuring some police officers who took part in the operation during which a high-profile kidnap suspect was moved from a remote community to Jalingo.

The Police said the suspect was freed by soldiers, describing the Nigeria Army’s blame on communication gap, as ‘bizarre’.
