All is now set for the start of the second edition of the Akwa Ibom State Youth Sports Festival 2018.

The competition will begin with the Local Government Qualifiers across all thirty one local government areas in state, from today, February 2 to Saturday February 10, 2018.

Speaking to Comfort FM Sports crew yesterday, State Commissioner for Sports, Sir Monday Ebong Uko, reiterated the state government’s desire to make Akwa Ibom the hub of sports in the country, while imploring local government councils to submit their entries in various sports on or before February 20.

The draws ceremony for the state finals will be held at the civil service auditorium on February 25 and winners of the local government qualifiers will go on to compete in the state qualifiers from March 5 to 10, with this year’s overall prize money pegged at ten million naira.
