Akwa Ibom State Government has cleared the air over a statement credited to the Alafin of Oyo, Lamidi  Adeyemi the third ,currently trending in the social Media space which seems to suggest that Governor Udom Emmanuel reported former Governor Akpabio to the EFCC in 2015.

A statement by Chief press Secretary to Governor Udom Emmanuel, Ekerette Udoh said the statement where the Alafin is purported to have said to have advised politicians not to be desperate about who their successors are, is false.

According to Udoh, the reference made to Senator Akpabio and Governor Udom Emmanuel in the said statement was a piece of propaganda material used by some political elements in 2017.

The Chief Press Secretary insists that as a man of integrity and sound judgment, Governor Udom Emmanuel, a man of integrity and of sound judgment will never do such a despicable thing  as referenced in the statement credited to the revered Monarch.

According to Udoh,Governor Emmanuel never told the EFCC that Akpabio kept dollars in his house when the EFCC,  in  September 2015, invaded a section of the Government House, Uyo where Senator Akpabio had stayed for a few days.
