A’Ibom State House of Assembly reinstates embattled Abak Council Chairman

After fifty-four days of political uncertainty, relief has come the way of the embattled Chairman of Abak Local Government Council, Imoh Williams, as the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has lifted his suspension with immediate effect.

The House took the decision today at its resumed plenary after more than one month recess, following the consideration and adoption of the report of the House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, as presented by the Committee Chairman, Mark Esset.

After considering the report, the House, presided over by Speaker, Aniekan Bassey, accepted the recommendations and directed the Chairman to resume work immediately at the Council Secretariat, Abak.
