Water project inaugurated At Nigeria Civil Service Union Secretariat

Workers in the employ of the Akwa Ibom State Government have been assured of payment of the outstanding one month Minimum wage arrears as soon as possible. Head of Civil Service, Elder Effiong Essien made the pledge while speaking as guest of honour at the end of the year meeting and inauguration of water project at the state secretariat of Nigeria Civil Service Union, NCSU.

Essien explained the delay in the payment of the arrears was occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic and assured that the situation will be resolved due to the Wodkers-friendly disposition of the state Gover, Mr Udom Emmanuel.

Elder Effiong Essien appreciated the leadership of the Nigeria Civil Service Union for undertaking the water project and also appreciated the leadership of the organized labour for the support he has received since assumption of office. Chairman, Civil Service Commission, Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Ekebong Umo lauded the spirit of solidarity in the leadership of NCSU in the state and called on members of the Union to support the leadership to do more.

Chairman NCSU, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Tina Essien in her welcome remarks, said the water project at the Secretariat is in support of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. Goodwill messages were delivered on the occasion by Commissioner for Labour and Manpower Planning, Pastor Sunny Ibuot,Secretary Joint Public Negotiating Council, Comrade Akamba Awah, and past Leaders of NCSU in the state.
