Vincent Enyeama Hints On A Possible Return To The NPFL

Former Nigerian Super Eagles goalkeeper and second most capped player with 101 Appearances Vincent Enyeama has thrown the Nigerian football league niche into a frenzy with his recent acknowledgment of his availability and zeal to return to active football in the Nigerian Professional Football League. The former captain who notably made a career in France and had been said to retire earlier on in 2019 has admitted his boredom and desire active football at least for one last time and the Eagle has returned to his nest. Having won the African Cup of Nations in 2013 with Nigeria and retired barely three years later from International football, the Aba born shot stopper however had solidified his family status in Lille, France which his family is based as he normally doesn’t spend much time back in Nigeria but still has the nation on his mind. The Mid Morning Sports on Comfort 95.1 FM, Uyo, Enyeama appreciated the Nigerian community for celebrating his birthday with him yesterday and further dropped exciting thoughts regarding his football decisions especially on a return to football however excluding any surprise return to international football. “It’s really boring, yes it is and i miss football so I’d like to return to it, first with a local team here in France, because I’ve been training here in my Garden in Lille and also back when I’m in Akwa Ibom. Then also I’ll be returning Nigeria next year, so if Akwa United need a goalkeeper for 4-5 Months, yes, I’m open to playing for free.” Also asked about his stance on ex internationals running for the NFF elections, Vincent Enyeama also supported his former mates saying he was optimistic that they could turn Nigerian Football around. “Yes, there’s a big possibility they can win the elections. To be honest I’m not even following the elections, Pinnick has done well, but this race is turn by turn” Enyeama would obviously be following in the footsteps of current Super Eagles Captain Ahmed Musa who recently returned to play for Kano Pillars during the 2020/2021 NPFL season for free, to many, this return further brings more promotion and branding to the NPFL.
