Sixteen PDP Lawmakers in Bayelsa Rally behind Governor Dickson as Impeachment fears spread

Written by on November 26, 2019

Sixteen out of the nineteen members of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party have passed a vote of confidence in the state Governor, Seriake Dickson.

The PDP lawmakers, who dominate the House, are said to have met the governor at the Government House Yenagoa to reaffirm their loyalty to him following an alleged move by the House to begin impeachment proceedings against the governor.

The lawmakers, who reportedly met behind closed doors with Dickson, dispelled the impeachment reports and said they were solidly behind the governor.
