Senate to Commence of Deliberations on Petroleum industry bill next year

The 9th Senate says it will commence work on the Petroleum Industry Bill as soon as they resume in January 2020.

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan announced this in a statement in Abuja.

The proposed bill will enable the Federal Government overhaul the petroleum industry so as to entrench efficiency and transparency in upstream and downstream operations.

Lawan also affirmed that the Senate would start deliberations on some other amendments proposed as bills by a number of senators.

He reiterated that the Senate was passionate about delivering some of the targets in its legislative agenda before the 2023 elections.
