PDP attacks President Buhari’s decision directing ministers to pass through Chief of Staff

Written by on August 22, 2019

The decision of President Buhari for ministers to channel all their meeting requests to him through his Chief of Staff, Abba Kyari, has received a backlash from stakeholders with the latest coming from the People’s Democratic Party.

In a statement by the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Kola Ologbondiyan, the decision would only reduce ministers to Kyari’s clerical aides.

Ologbondiyan described what he called the demotion of ministers as unacceptable and counter-productive, saying that it only reduces governance to a domestic affair.

You may recall that the President had at the close of a two-day retreat organised for the ministers, asked them to always go through Kyari for meeting requests and through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, for issues relating to the Federal Executive Council.

He reiterated the same thing yesterday while inaugurating the ministers.
