Payment of Thirty Thousand naira Minimum Wage for Youth Corp members to Begin Next year

Written by on December 13, 2019

Nigerians who will still be serving under the National Youth Service Corps scheme can begin to chant songs of joy.

This is because, come 2020, they will begin to receive the thirty thousand naira new minimum wage as allowance.

Director-General of the scheme, Shuabu Ibrahim gave the assurance in a statement in Abuja.

Ibrahim said the allowance of corps members was being reviewed to reflect the new minimum wage as it had been captured in the yet-to-be-assented appropriation bill.

You may recall that the Minister of Youth and Sports, Sunday Dare, had in October said that the federal government was planning for the payment of the minimum wage to youth corps members.
