Written by on July 15, 2019

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, has again written to President Buhari on the deteriorating security situation in the country, describing the trend as weighty and worrisome.

Obasanjo in a letter released today to newsmen by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, called on President Buhari to take decisive action to prevent the situation from escalating into a full blown crisis

Obasanjo said Nigeria is on the precipice and dangerously reaching a tipping point where it may no longer be possible to hold danger at bay

The former president said he is concerned as a Nigerian, who still bears the scars of the Nigerian Civil war on his body and with a son who bears the scar of fighting Boko Haram on his body.

He argued that when people are desperate and feel that they cannot have confidence in the ability of the government to provide security for their lives and properties, they will take recourse to anything and everything that can guarantee their security individually and collectively.
