Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation says despite the prospect in the exploration of oil in the Chad Basin, security challenge has been the major impediment to the success of the project.
General Manager, Frontier Exploration Services of the corporation, Mazadu Bako, who stated this in Kaduna State, hinted that plans are at the advanced stage.
Bako regretted that the security situation was slowing down construction at the locations for drilling, and asked that security, particularly in the North-East, be beefed up to remedy the situation and hasten up the project.
