NIN: NCC Dimisses Fear Of Mass Disconnection Of Mobile Subscribers

Nigerian Communications Commission has dismissed fears of mass disconnection of telephone subscribers as a result of the ongoing linkage of SIM Registration Records with National Identity Number.

The Commission, in a statement by its Director, Public Affairs, Dr. Ikechukwu Adinde, said there was no need for such fears.

Adinde said the ongoing exercise was part of efforts to enhance the safety of Nigerians and help in providing adequate data for national budgeting, policy planning, and social Intervention programs.

The commission assured that the Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, will continue to review the exercise in the light of experiences to ensure its smooth implementation.
