Nigeria Police Force to Reintroduce Highway patrols in South-South Region

Nigeria Police force is appealing to governors and other stakeholders in the south-south region to assist in efforts at strengthening internal and communal security.

Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu made the appeal yesterday at a security summit for the states of the south-south region, hosted by the Delta State government.

Adamu however announced that the ‘Safer Highway’ Motorized Patrol Scheme and ‘Safer City’ would soon be re-launched in the region.

According to him, the force had acquired additional fleets of vehicles equipped with CCTV Camera-on-the-move for the surveillance and security of oil pipelines in the region.
