NEC reconstitutes reconciliation Committee on Excess Crude Account and NNPC remittance

Newly inaugurated National Economic Council has hit the ground running with the reconstitution of an Ad-hoc Committee to reconcile the Excess Crude Account, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation’s remittance and related issues.

Governor of Adamawa, Ahmadu Fintri, who announced this at the end of the Council meeting which was presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, said the Committee is made up of the governors of Kaduna, Edo, Jigawa and Ebonyi states.

Fintri said the Committee is expected to meet with relevant federal government officials for the reconciliation.

Reports say the balance of the excess crude account was one hundred and forty four million dollars, while the balance of the Stabilization Fund Account stood at seventeen point six seven billion naira as at June 19, 2019.
