Written by on November 22, 2019

Status of the ownership structure of power distribution companies in the country is to be reviewed by the National Economic Council.

The review will be done by an ad hoc committee chaired by the Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir el-Rufai, while Governors representing the six geopolitical zones on the Board of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company will serve on the review committee.

This was one of the decisions taken at this week’s meeting of the Council, presided over by Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

At the end of the meeting, Governor of Imo State, Eemeka Ihedioha, told newsmen that the Council also resolved to invest additional two hundred and fifty million dollars in the Nigeria Sovereign Investment Authority and approved a panel to look into the investment of a portion of the pensions fund in the Authority, with possible implementation of PenCom.
