Written by on July 8, 2019

Lagos State government is working to drive its smart-city agenda with Information and Communication Technology, while also using it to tackle criminal activities in the state.

Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who made this known in Lagos, said the smart city agenda is to be driven by innovation and technology as required in the 21st century.

Sanwo-Olu said Lagos state may not be able to invest more in agriculture, since it lacked enough landmass, despite being the most populated, but that the present government would focus on using ICT to drive the smart-city initiative.

He said sensitive cameras would soon be installed in different parts of the state, saying the cameras would turn around and capture the identities of suspected criminals, where it hears a gunshot.
