India has lost contact with a powerful communications satellite, just two days after it was launched.
The indigenously built GSAT-6A satellite was designed to improve communications for the armed forces.
Confirming the incident, Indian Space and Research Organisation said “an unfortunate power supply anomaly” was to blame.
It added that steps are underway to re-establish contact with the satellite, which cost two point seven billion rupees to construct.
India has not lost a satellite in more than a decade.
