Written by on June 6, 2019

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha has ordered a suspension of all dredging activities within the metropolis for personal reasons.

The governor has also ordered immediate re-opening of Douglas Road, which was closed by former Governor Rochas Okorocha, after relocating the Ekeukwu Owerre Market.

Ihedioha gave the directives yesterday, when he visited some areas in the city, as part of activities to mark World Environment Day.

He said the relocation of the market would be revisited after consultations with the people of Owerri.

Analysts have viewed the new Governor’s decision as a way of revoking certain decisions of the previous administration.
