Former Military President, Babangida scores Nigerian leaders low on reconciliatory efforts fifty years after civil war

Written by on January 14, 2020

Former Military President, General Ibrahim Babangida has blamed Nigerian leaders for what he called ‘a slow pace’ in the reconciliation of Nigerians in the aftermath of the civil war.

According to the General Babangida, this is because the efforts were not consistently pushed by the authorities.

The former military leader was speaking in a Television Programme in Lagos to commemorate the Armed Forces Remembrance Day.

He, however, lauded initiatives such as the National Youth Service Corps and the unity schools set up across the country.

Babangida urged the Federal Government to do more by consistently pushing hard to achieve their objectives
