Federal Government has vowed not to condone any further attack by rampaging herdsmen in any part of the country.

Minister of Interior, General Abdulrahman Dambazau, said this at a meeting with some state governors in Abuja.

The Minister stated that President Buhari remained committed to ensuring peace in every part of the country.

The Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, who was also at the meeting, was worried about the increasing clashes between herdsmen and farmers.
He, however, blamed criminally minded persons for taking the advantage of conflicts between farmers and herdsmen to cause mayhem in the country.

Ogbeh said the Federal Government plans to establish cattle colonies to be protected by cattle rearers, as well as provide water, pasture and security for such colonies.

Among the governors present were Nasir El-Rufai, Kaduna; Abubakar Bello, Niger; Samuel Ortom, Benue; Darius Ishaku, Taraba and Mohammad Jibrilla, Adamawa.
