Edo state Government has appealed for cooperation from the comity of nations and international organizations in tackling illegal migration and human trafficking.

Senior Special Assistant to the state Governor on Human Trafficking and Illegal Migration, Solomon Okoduwa who made the call in Benin City noted that no fewer than two thousand, nine hundred and ten returnees were evacuated from Libya to Nigeria between November 2017 and February 2018.

He said the state government was making efforts to address the causes of illegal migration and human trafficking with a view to curbing them, through embarking on massive awareness campaign in the media, streets, markets, churches and schools to sensitize the people on dangers associated with illegal migration.

He therefore called on the international community to collaborate with the state government in curbing the menace and reducing the scourge.
