Akwa Ibom State Police Command ban Motorcycles within Uyo Metropolis

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command says it has commenced a massive crackdown on users of motorcycles within Uyo metropolis in compliance with the law prohibiting the act.
In a statement signed by its Public Relations Officer, Odiko MacDon, and made available to Comfort FM, the police advised members of the public to avoid using motorcycles within Uyo metropolis, warning that anyone found violating the law will be apprehended and prosecuted.
The statement noted that as a proactive measure to checkmate criminality within Eket and its environs, the Police Command will enforce the prohibition on the use of motorcycles in Eket and Ikot Ekpene Local Government Areas between 6pm and 6am daily.
It enjoined users of motorcycles within Eket and environs to avoid doing so within the said period, as offenders will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.
