Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly confirms Governor Emmanuel’s nominees into three Commissions

Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly has confirmed the nominations submitted by Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointment into the Local Government Service Commission, Law Reform Commission and State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC.

Under the new arrangement, the Local Government Service Commission has Mr Monday Eyo, the immediate past member representing Uyo in the House of Assembly as Chairman, with Elder Aniekan Akpan, former Chairman of Ukanafun; Otuekong Emmanuel Ibiok, former Commissioner for Culture and Tourism; Mrs. Idara Ephraim Akpan and Mr. Samuel Ekpenyong Thomas, as members.

Similarly, Barrister Imowo Okpokpo was confirmed as member of the Law Reform Commission.

Two new members were approved into Akwa Ibom State Independent Electoral Commission, AKISIEC.

They are Ufot Sunday Akpan and Ekpuk Eshiet.

The House ratified the appointments at today’s plenary presided over by the Speaker, Aniekan Bassey.

Meanwhile, the Speaker has directed the Clerk of the House, Mrs. Mandu Umoren, to communicate the resolution of the House to the Governor and other relevant quarters.
