Akwa Ibom Government lunches Compulsory Biometric Capturing for Mechanics and Spare Part Dealers today.

Akwa Ibom State Government has commenced a compulsory biometric capturing of all automobile technicians and spare part dealers in the State.
In a release by the State Commissioner of Transport, Orman Esin, those to be captured in that category are automobile operators, Mechanics, Spare part dealers, Vulcanizers, Iron Benders, Keke and Motorcycle Mechanics, and Refrigerator Technicians.
According to the Transport Commissioner, the intention of the exercise is to help government provide safety and security to the affected individuals, while also enabling operators to benefit from government in certain areas.
The release indicates that the Capturing exercise has already commenced today at the Mechanic Village, AbakĀ Road, Uyo by 8 O’clock in the Morning.
The Statement further explains that the compulsory Biometric capturing will be replicated in the thirty one Local Government Areas of the State.
Consequently, stakeholders of Automobile Technicians and Auto Spare Part DealersĀ are by this notice directed to ensure that all their members comply with the ongoing mandatory exercise.
