Aisha Buhari calls for urgent action to protect girl-child against abuse

Wife of the President, Aisha Buhari, has called for urgent action to protect the girl child from abuses.

Mrs Buhari in a tweet today to commemorate the International Day of the Girl-Child, stressed the need for parents to protect their children from all forms of violence and abuse.

She expressed appreciation on the progress made on the advocacy by women groups on the need to protect their folk against any form of gender based violence, which she said has become more pronounced in recent times.

October 11 every year was set aside by the United Nations in 2012, as the International Day of the Girl-Child , while the theme for the 2019 celebration is “Girl Force: Unscripted and Unstoppable”.
