Members of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly today cut short their one month holiday and reconvened to deliberate on the alleged brutalization of an indigene of Abak Local Government Council, Godwin Abraham, by the Council Chairman, Imoh Williams.

At the end of the plenary, the House resolved to suspend the Chairman indefinitely from office, for alleged abuse of office and directed the Vice Chairman to take over the affairs of the Council in acting capacity, pending the conclusion of investigations into the matter.

Recall that Governor Emmanuel had requested the House to urgently investigate the scandal arising from the trending video depicting the alleged brutalization of the indigene and take appropriate action to serve as a deterrent to others.
