2020 UTME: JAMB issues warning to parents

Written by on January 27, 2020

Parents of intending candidates for the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination have been alerted of a ploy by some schools to extort money from them, in the guise of fees for the ongoing registration.

Head of Media and Information, Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Fabian Benjamin, who brought this to the fore, advised parents not to give in to the antics.

Benjamin clarified that unlike the West African Examinations Council, National Examinations Council and others, the UTME and Direct Entry registration and examinations, were not school-based, leaving the schools with no role in the Board’s operational processes.

He warned school authorities involved in such practices to desist forthwith, and reiterated that the cost of the UTME forms remains three thousand, five hundred naira for ePINs and five hundred naira for reading text, while CBT registration centres are to charge nothing more than seven hundred naira.
